amazee.io was pleased to sponsor and participate in Drupaljam 2025, held on May 21st at De Fabrique in Utrecht. The event, themed "Drupaljam: and beyond," was a huge success, bringing together 350 professionals from the Drupal community for a day of learning, catch-ups, and collaboration.
Keynotes that Set the Tone
The day started with a keynote presentation from Dr. Melanie Rieback, co-founder and CEO of Radically Open Security, who offered critical perspectives on cybersecurity, and ended with Jeroen van der Most, an AI artist, who explored the intersection of artificial intelligence and creativity, challenging attendees to consider a "post-AI" world.
These keynotes and several other AI-focused sessions demonstrated the growing prevalence and potential of artificial intelligence within the Drupal ecosystem, from content management enhancements to new forms of user interaction. Many sessions also delved into AI's practical applications and evolving role, highlighting just how curious the community is about where the technology is heading.
Driving AI Forward
Jamie Abrahams, co-founder of FreelyGive and co-maintainer of the Drupal AI module, delivered an insightful session titled “AI is the New UI – How We Are Building AI into Drupal CMS.” Jamie elaborated on the rapid evolution of AI, how it’s becoming a new user interface, and the significance of community-driven innovations like the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for standardizing AI interactions within Drupal. He sees AI augmenting Drupal's capabilities and empowering developers, something which strongly resonates with our work at amazee.ai. We’re excited to be working with Jamie and other community leaders on initiatives like the amazee.ai Drupal AI Provider, which aims to make these advanced AI functionalities easily accessible to Drupal users.
Drupal AI Provider
At our booth, we showcased our new Drupal AI Provider, designed for seamless Drupal integration with private infrastructure and out-of-the-box vector database support. It got a great response from visitors to the booth and sparked some interesting conversations.
Beyond the insightful sessions and technical discussions, our booth was a hive of activity. A definite crowd-pleaser was our pet engraving station, where we created personalized tags for the pets of over 40 attendees, adding a fun and personal touch to the day.
