amazee.io is applying to participate in Google’s Season of Docs! This program brings the open source and technical writing communities together to improve documentation and increase awareness of open source projects.
As a participating open source organization, we’ll mentor technical writers who apply through the program to discuss projects and improve documentation for our open source, container-based platform Lagoon. Technical writers can gain experience, learn about open source projects, and receive a stipend for their work on the projects.
This is a great opportunity not only to improve documentation but to expand our community to include a new generation of technical writers and raise awareness of the spirit of collaboration and contribution at the heart of open source.
We’ve started a list of potential projects on Github. Got an idea for a Lagoon project that would be a great addition to this list? Just let us know! Know a technical writer who might be interested in this program? Keep an eye on our blog for future announcements!
Update: While we weren’t selected this year, we’re excited about this project and all the companies and writers that will be participating. We’d still love to any technical writers looking for mentoring and experience, just get in touch with us and let’s talk!
